PAIA manual
Asking us for a record
The Promotion of Access to Information Act gives you a right to records we hold. This is the manual section 51 requires us to publish, and it tells you exactly how to ask.
In effect from 9 August 2026. Version 1.
About this manual
This is the manual of [Registered company name] (Pty) Ltd ("Blazeverse") required by section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"). It explains what records we hold and how to ask for them.
Every private body in South Africa must have one. The exemption that previously covered smaller companies has expired, so this applies to us regardless of size.
It is free, and it is here on the website rather than behind a request.

Records we hold
Broadly, our records fall into these groups.
- Company records — registration documents, financial records, tax returns, insurance.
- User records — accounts, bookings, payments, messages, support correspondence.
- Verification records — identity documents, certificates and clearances supplied by Blazers and Sparkmakers.
- Product and service listings, and their moderation history.
- Safety records — incident reports, SOS alerts, safety-contact notifications.
- Operational records — coverage requests, service areas, staff and contractor records.
How to request a record
Use Form 02 (Request for Access to Record), prescribed under Regulation 7 of the PAIA Regulations. It is published by the Information Regulator and linked below.
Send the completed form to privacy@blazeverse.co.za, or by post to the address above.
- Give enough detail to identify the record and to identify yourself.
- Say which right you are trying to exercise or protect, and why the record is needed for it. Section 50 of PAIA requires this for private bodies.
- Tell us how you want the record delivered, and whether you need it in a particular format for a disability.
- We must decide within 30 days. We will tell you the outcome and any fee before we release anything.
Fees
PAIA allows a private body to charge a prescribed request fee, and access fees for search, reproduction and delivery. We will tell you the amount before doing the work, and you may withdraw the request if you do not want to pay it.
TO CONFIRM before launch: state the current prescribed amounts here, taken from the Information Regulator’s published fee structure rather than from memory.
When we may refuse
PAIA requires us to refuse in certain cases — most often to protect somebody else’s privacy, someone’s commercial confidences, or information given to us in confidence. We will tell you which section we relied on and why.
A request for your own personal information is normally granted. Requests for someone else’s rarely are.
If you are unhappy with our decision
You may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at PAIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, or apply to a court. There is no internal appeal against a private body under PAIA, so you may go straight to the Regulator.
The request form
Fill in Form 02 here and we will turn it into a completed request you can print or email to privacy@blazeverse.co.za. Nothing is sent or stored until you send it yourself — the form runs entirely in your browser.
