Blazeverse

Terms of service

The deal between us

Blazeverse introduces you to a stylist, a barber or a seller and handles the money. The hair is done by them, not by us — and that distinction runs through everything below.

In effect from 9 August 2026. Version 1.

What Blazeverse is

Blazeverse is a marketplace. We introduce you to independent stylists and barbers ("Blazers") and independent sellers ("Sparkmakers"), handle the booking and the money, and provide safety tools around it.

We are not a hair salon and we do not employ Blazers. The service itself is a contract between you and the person doing it. That is not a disclaimer to duck responsibility — it is what actually happens, and it matters for who is liable for what.

Who may use it

You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Under-18s may be booked for by a parent or guardian, who takes responsibility for the appointment.

You need an account to book. We do not allow guest bookings — when somebody is going into a home, both sides need a real identity behind them.

For Blazers and Sparkmakers

You work for yourself. You choose what you offer, what you charge, and which jobs you take. You are responsible for your own tax, and for any permit or qualification your work requires.

You must complete verification before you go live, and everything you tell us during it must be true. What you list must follow the listing rules, which form part of these terms.

We take a commission on each completed booking, shown to you before you accept it.

Bookings, deposits and cancellations

A scheduled booking takes a deposit when a Blazer accepts, and the balance when the job is finished and you both confirm. An emergency booking is charged once, upfront.

Cancel more than 4 hours before and the deposit comes back in full. Cancel later and it goes to the Blazer, who turned down other work and may already be travelling.

If the Blazer cancels, or we do, you get everything back — however late it is. Our supply problems are not your cost.

Payment

Prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where it applies. Payment is taken through our payment provider; we do not store your card details.

A Blazer is paid once both of you confirm the job is done and the payment has cleared. If either of you raises a problem, payment is held until it is sorted.

Safety

Appointments in homes carry real risk for both people. We verify identities, keep a record of who was where, and let either side add safety contacts who are told when an appointment starts and finishes.

The SOS button is not an emergency service. In an emergency call 10111, or 112 from a mobile. Use SOS as well, not instead.

You may not use Blazeverse to arrange anything sexual, and doing so ends the account immediately.

What we are responsible for, and what we are not

We are responsible for running the platform properly: taking payment correctly, verifying the people we say we have verified, and acting on reports.

We are not responsible for the quality of a haircut or a product, because we did not do it or make it. Where something goes wrong we will help you resolve it, hold payment, and remove people who should not be here.

Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act. Where these terms and that Act disagree, the Act wins.

TO CONFIRM with an attorney: liability limits and indemnities. A template limitation clause is often unenforceable in South Africa and this is where you want real advice.

When something goes wrong

Tell us first — through the app, or at our contact address. We would rather fix it than argue about it, and most things are fixable the same day.

If we cannot agree, you may take it to the relevant ombud or a court. Nothing here stops you.

Changes

We will tell you before these terms change in a way that affects you, and the date at the top always shows the current version. Continuing to use Blazeverse after a change means you accept it.

Listing something? The listing rules form part of these terms, and you agree to them each time you publish.

What we do with your information is set out separately in the privacy notice.
